I absolutely love a personalised product. If you know me then you’ll know my house is filled with them! I downloaded the Lifecake app, so I could pick from their range of photo products. They have a nice variety to choose from, which include calendars, magnets, phone cases, mugs, posters and prints. I decided to go for the phone case, calendar and single photo poster, which came to a total of £48.99. The app itself allows you to upload photos to a timeline, that can later be shared with family and friends. I didn’t feel as though the app was of much use to me as I share most of my photos on social media. However it may be nice for those who want to keep family updated with regular photos of their baby’s growth.
The phone case and poster were pretty simple to create because it was just one image that was going on them but the calendar requires 4 photos for each month so this took a bit of time. I found it frustrating that I couldn’t save my edited photo product and continue from where I had left off. I had to complete the calendar in one go which was difficult with limited time on my hands. I am a perfectionist, so I made sure all he photos were edited and cohesive for each month. Of course you don’t have to do that, and there is an option to add a filter inside the app, but I preferred to do it using other editing tools first.
The products came the next day after placing the order which I thought was a super fast! The quality of the products overall is really good. I didn’t think much of the single poster as the definition of the photo got a bit lost, but I absolutely love my phone case and calendar. I’m actually pretty happy that I took the time I did on creating it, because it looks really good-even if I do say so myself! The calendar comes with a thin see through cover to protect the front page. The overall layout is simple with the photos taking up the majority of the space. There isn’t enough room on the calendar to write anything down but I would say it’s purpose is more style over substance. The phone case has a really cute picture of my boyfriend and baby girl on it, which I choose as a gift for him. You have 2 options to choose from Gloss and Matt. I went for the matt finish, and it came out really nicely. Considering the photo itself was taken on my phone I thought it transferred onto the phone case well. Sometimes it can appear very pixelated if the quality of the photo is low, but it didn’t so I was very impressed.
These products would make special Christmas gifts, particularly if you have Grandparents like mine who are constantly reminding you that they want more photos. They can be personalised any way that you would like with photos or even a picture of your choice. I’m fortunate enough to be able to offer you an extra 10GB of storage for downloading Lifecake and an extra 25% off your first print products order, using my code ‘allthingspink’. The code is valid until 31st Jan 2018.
